Alpharetta Football 2017

When is registration for Alpharetta Football?
Registration Opens:  APRIL 1, 2017
In-person registration (with Privit System support) will be held:

Sat, April 15th from 10:00am-1:00pm in the AHS Main Lobby.
Sat, April 22nd from 10:00am-1:00pm in the AHS Main Lobby.
Note: Rising freshman and NEW players should register 4/15. Returning Players may register on either date.

ALL players should register whether or not they will participate in Spring Football.  No Fall registration will be held. If you are a new player moving into the AHS area after spring registration, you can still register for football by contacting Michelle Wagner, Varsity Team Manager.

When does Spring Football start?
The first day of spring practice is  May 8, 2017. Practices will be held after school each day until 6:30pm. Please check the website calendar for practice days or changes. Equipment will be distributed to registered players on Wed, May 3rd and Thurs, May 4th.  Spring football will end with the Spring Scrimmage vs. Forsyth Central on Friday, May 19th.
What information is needed to register for Alpharetta Football?
Official registration will be conducted in person at AHS on Saturday, April 15th or Saturday, April 22nd, 2017 from 10am-1pm in the AHS Main Lobby.
You will need to complete the following:
  1. The on-line registration information: Prior to on-site registration, begin the registration process by selecting “Register Now” under the “Play!” tab on the website main menu. Follow the instructions and complete ALL steps of the online registration process.
  2. Athlete Forms: ALL necessary athlete forms are now collected using the “Privit” online system during the online registration process. Instructions for using Privit are available in the “Step 3: Documents” in the Registration Process, and are also available under the “Athlete Forms” tab. A copy of a current player physical (valid through end of season) and insurance card must be uploaded to Privit. Players will not be cleared to participate by the Athletic Department until all information is complete on Privit.
  3. Transcript Release Form (if desiring to play at the college level) should be printed and turned in to Coach Nichols. The form can be found under the Athlete Forms Tab (click here).
Is insurance required for my child to participate?

You must upload a copy of your player’s valid insurance card (both front and back of card) to the PrivIT system when you register your player online.  If you do not have medical insurance for your player, you can purchase affordable individual insurance for football season through Fulton County Schools.  Please contact the AHS front office to obtain a copy of the application for the county provided insurance program.

Where does this money go?
Monies collected and raised on behalf of the AHS football program go towards coaches, equipment and its maintenance, capital improvements, various football events, player clothing and other needs necessary to support and improve the football program.
Where do I find out what activities/events are coming up?
Go to the Calendar tab on the website. Most new information will be posted on the Calendar. Once you are on our calendar, click on a date and a specific event and an event balloon will open to provide more information. During our fall football season, the Alpharetta Raider Newsletter will be sent out weekly via email to all who have subscribed to the online newsletter.
What is the parent/family commitment to the football program?
Parent involvement is the key to a successful football program.  Please support the program with your enthusiasm by attending our games, wearing Black, Silver and Cardinal and getting involved! JV and Freshmen parents spearhead concessions at the Varsity home games and Senior parents provide support at the freshman and JV home games each week.  All Raider families keep the community spirit and camaraderie alive as well as volunteer.  Team Managers will schedule parents in volunteer slots each week to support game day operations.  You can select your preference for volunteer duties when you register your player online.  It takes many volunteers for a successful program!
Does my 8th grader need to be at weight lifting NOW?


We want all the upcoming freshmen (aka current 8th graders) to be at afternoon weight training currently going on at AHS on Tuesdays and Thursdays.  This is an excellent program run by Coach Nichols and gives the boys the opportunity to get to know one another and the coaches. What about summer workouts?
Summer workouts will be held on weekday mornings and are posted on the website calendar. Times may vary based on the team and position of each player.  Summer workouts begin Tuesday, May 30, 2017.  We encourage players to attend all workouts if possible.  There will be no activities June 25 – July 9, 2017 for AHS Vacation (6/26-6/30) and GHSA Dead Week (7/3-7/7).
Should my rising freshman take weight training as a class at AHS?


We want ALL players, grades 9 – 12, to take advantage of the AHS Weight Training class each semester except for the last semester of their senior year when they take the state required Personal Fitness.

Where do the game entrance fees go?
The game gate/entrance fees (e.g. ticket sales) are collected by the school and deposited to the school’s general athletic fund. This fund is shared by all sports activities at AHS.
Do we have to fundraise?


Fundraising is essential to AHS Football in order to keep the program strong and vital. We make every effort to limit the amount of fundraising activities, but need your full support to keep fundraising to a minimum.

How do I join the AHS Touchdown Club?
Paying your registration and player fees makes your family a part of the AHS Raider Nation, but it does NOT make you an AHS Touchdown Club member.  Details regarding the 2017 Touchdown Club can be found on the Touchdown Club tab under the “Join Us” menu option. You can register for the Touchdown Club during the registration process, or by selection the “Join Club” tab under the Join Us menu option.
What is your Withdrawal Policy?
If you move or have circumstances whereby your son will not be playing this season and you’ve already registered, please read our Refund Policy.
