Assistant Coach Webster Bumpers

Coach Bumpers is the Offensive Line Coach and Run Game Coordinator.  This is his first year at Alpharetta High School. Bumpers is the ISS instructor at Alpharetta High. He started his high school coaching career at Houston County High School in 2012. There he helped lead an offensive line which paved the way for Quarterback phenom Jake Fromm.  In his two years at Houston County Coach Bumpers orchestrated an offensive line which help produced over 4,200 rushing yards and over 10,000 yards in total offense. In 2014 Bumpers helped led Houston County to the GHSA Playoffs,  an accomplishment the school had not achieved 7 years prior to Bumpers’ arrival.  In that same year the offensive line yielded only 5 quarterback sacks in 13 games. He also coached the tight ends at Morehouse College in Atlanta, Georgia in 2015 before returning to high school football. During the 2016-2017 football season Bumpers once again found himself leading an offensive line at Creekside High School in Fairburn, Georgia. There he was able to develop an Offensive Line that set a school rushing record.  While under Coach Bumpers’ guidance Creekside had 2 offensive lineman who received 1st team All-Region Honors and one who received Honorable Mention.  During his 1st year at Creekside the school produced 2 running backs and 1 quarterback who all rushed for over 1,000 yards in one season.

Coach Bumpers was born and raised in Jackson, Alabama where he was a 3-year Letterman in football / track & field.  He played center as a sophomore before moving to fullback mid-way through his sophomore year until his senior year where he anchored the defense as a middle-linebacker.  Coach Bumpers still holds the record at Coffeeville High for the most tackles in a single game with 19.  He is an 8-year United States Air Force Veteran who served time in Saudi Arabia, Qatar and Afghanistan. He has a degree from Georgia Military College in General Studies and pursuing a Human Relations Degree from Point University.   Bumpers is married to his wonderful wife, Tina, they have six children; DaQuon, Jared, Markina, Jocelyn, Genevra and Christina.  He is also an avid chess player.
