Coach Bumpers is the Offensive Line Coach and Run Game Coordinator. This is his third year at Alpharetta High School. He started his high school coaching career at Houston County High School in 2012. There he helped lead an offensive line which paved the way for Quarterback phenom Jake Fromm. In his two years at Houston County Coach Bumpers orchestrated an offensive line which help produced over 4,200 rushing yards and over 10,000 yards in total offense. In 2014 Bumpers helped led Houston County to the GHSA Playoffs, an accomplishment the school had not achieved 7 years prior to Bumpers’ arrival. In that same year the offensive line yielded only 5 quarterback sacks in 13 games. He also coached the tight ends at Morehouse College in Atlanta, Georgia in 2015 before returning to high school football. During the 2016-2017 football season Bumpers once again found himself leading an offensive line at Creekside High School in Fairburn, Georgia. During his 1st year at Creekside the school produced 2 running backs and 1 quarterback who all rushed for over 950 yards in one season which set a school rushing record.
Coach Bumpers was born and raised in Jackson, Alabama where he was a 3-year Letterman in football / track & field. He played center as a freshman and sophomore before moving to fullback/ middle linebacker mid-way through his junior year. He is an 8-year United States Air Force Veteran who served time in Southwest Asia and in the Pacific. He has a degree from Georgia Military College in General Studies and a degree from The College of the Air Force in Aerospace Propulsion Maintenance Technology. Coach Bumpers is the ISS instructor at Alpharetta High. Bumpers is married to his beautiful wife, Tina, they have six children; DaQuon, Jared, Markina, Jocelyn, Genevra and Christina. His hobbies are family outings, watching film, chess, and anything American Football.
